Project Jyoti Kiran was initiated in 2019 with the objective of offering free eye care services, specifically targeting truckers and transporters. Eye care camps are organised at locations such as Transport Nagar, Mandis and other places frequented by a large number of truck, LCV and HCV drivers on a daily basis. During these camps, eye tests are conducted for truck drivers and those in need are provided with spectacles free of charge on the spot. On average, it has been observed that 30-40% of the drivers who visit these camps have vision-related issues requiring corrective glasses. • No of Health Camps Organised:333 • No of Drivers benefited:35,000+ • Free of cost spectacles provided: 18,000+
1. Total 3,847 toilets have been constructed, benefiting directly more than 20,000 people. 2. More than 60 villages have been declared open Defecation Free (ODF) with the efforts of JK Tyre. 3. A third party impact assessment report emphasizes that; 4. More than 90% people are using toilets regularly. 5. Community has become more receptive to sanitation campaign and well sensitized about ill effects of open defecation. 6. Mind-set changed and people embraced hygienic habits and practices 7. There has been a considerable reduction in medical expenses of target communities. 8. Lives of women, old and small children have become easy and safe Shri Shivnandan Singh, Sarpanch Noorabad, Morena, MP very categorically mentions that the project has been instrumental in generating awareness among local masses, ensuring quality construction, regular usage and transforming our village and its surrounding environment neat and clean.
JK Tyre is actively engaged in prevention of HIV/ AIDS epidemic. There are three health clinics operational at high risk HIV/ AIDS locations with the help of partner NGOs. The project has benefited more than 2.5 lac people of transporter fraternity since beginning of this project. JK Tyre supported network of people living with HIV/ AIDS (PLHIV) in Rajsamand, Rajasthan helps PLHIV to get medical support, guidance and nutritional supplements for HIV positive people including children. The PLHIV network has enrolled total around 1200 PLHIV in Rajsamand and a large number of PLHIV have also been linked with various government social schemes like Antyoday, Palanhar, etc.
The reproductive and child health care project- ‘Parivartan’ initiated in tribal dominated Rajsamand district of Rajasthan in the year 2004 has brought significant reduction in IMR and MMR prevalent in area and also inculcated health seeking behavior among marginal and disadvantaged communities. In an year around ten thousand patients avail medical support and free medicines under ‘Parivartan’ project.
1. There has not been any maternal mortality during child birth in last three years by ensuring close to 100% institutional deliveries, follow up on ANCs, capacity building of local health workers and sensitization of local communities. 2. There has also been significant reduction in Infant mortality in the project villages. 3. Increased awareness about appropriate RCH practices, increase in contraceptive usage and increase in institutional delivery. 4. Empowered women to take informed decisions with regard to family planning, maternal health, safe delivery and child care.
General health & Eye camps are organized regularly to provide quality health care services to truck drivers, transporters and local communities. A large number of successful cataract operations have also been done with the help of Hospitals and NGOs.
