JK Tyre’s Livestock Development Programme revolutionises dairy farming through the use of artificial insemination services, resulting in high-yielding calves and surplus milk for sale. Conveniently located Livestock Development Centres provide doorstep services and veterinary support, ensuring optimal animal health. This surplus milk offers additional income, particularly valuable for impoverished households, empowering them to expand their herds and pursue dairy farming as a sustainable livelihood. By forming milk producers, associations, logistic costs are reduced, and access to larger markets with better prices is enhanced. In collaboration with NABARD, the project has been scaled up in its second phase (Year 2022 onwards), achieving significant milestones. •Number Artificial Inseminations performed: 50,000+ •Number of Hybrid calves born: 14,000+ •Milk production increased by: 4,000 litres per day (in project villages) •Number of farmers benefitted: 35,000+ • Cattle Health Services: 1,00,000+ Cattle
As part of our Floriculture initiative, we have trained over 200 women farmers in Kankroli, Rajasthan, capitalizing on the area's market proximity. We distributed seedlings of marigold, jasmine, and chrysanthemum, along with providing wire fencing for crop protection. •Number of women trained & adopted floriculture: 2000+ •Average Increase in Income- Rs 10,000-12,000
JK Tyre’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu facilitated by the Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) is designed to ignite a spirit of entrepreneurship among unemployed youths and provide them with the necessary support to establish successful businesses in diverse sectors, including manufacturing (such as food products, artificial jewellery, and Areca plates), services (ranging from film editing to beauty services), and retail. In its initial phase, the programme has already made significant strides with 44 youth total beneficiaries, 17 number of women benefitted along with 2.17 Cr total loan amount disbursed from banks.
JK Tyre has embarked on a transformative journey in Noorabad village, Morena, through the establishment of a tailoring unit with modern electric-powered sewing machines and other equipment to skill and empower women. The ‘Saheli Sangam Samiti’ under this initiative has provided a structured platform for women to collaborate and support each other in their entrepreneurial endeavours. Through diversified training programmes, this initiative has trained two batches of 20 women each, enhancing their employability and income levels.
